Amazon Fresh Review
Ever since I saw Monica Shelby’s YouTube video on Amazon Go, I wanted to check the store out an Amazon grocery store out.
For those who are not tech savy or want to shop as you normally would at other grocery stores, at Amazon Fresh, there’s still a traditional checkout option where a cashier rings you out.
I opted for the traditional checkout with the regular grocery cart instead of the Just Walk Out exit with the Amazon Dash Cart.
For those who are interested in Amazon’s cashierless Just Walk Out technology, I want to point out that the Amazon Dash Cart looks small and appears to only be able to fit 2 bags of groceries. It may not be as good if you’re planning to do a large grocery haul.
Unlike the Amazon Go stores, at Amazon Fresh stores, the sensor is built in the Amazon Dash Cart rather than in the ceiling, so it is not entirely automated. From what I’ve seen on YouTube, for items like produce and pastries you need to enter the PLU code before you put them in the cart.
