I self-published The Mystery of the Blue Book in April 2014. I can’t believe it has been 8 years! I’m releasing chapter 1 today as a sneak preview to Fiction Friday.
I plan to publish one chapter from this book on Medium every Friday. I have another unpublished work after this one is done.
I woke up and checked the time. It was 8:20 am, and my first class starts in ten minutes. I was going to be late. My heart pounded rapidly, and I was hyperventilating. I had absentmindedly forgotten that I was still in my pajamas and did not change out of them. I simply grabbed my backpack and ran down the stairs.
My backpack felt extremely light today. Once I reached the bottom of the stairs, I opened my backpack, and there were no books. That was strange. Then I realized today was June 20, the first day of summer vacation. My heart rate slowed down, and I was able to breathe normally again.
I walked up the stairs and back to my bedroom, where I dropped my backpack on the floor. Now that I don’t have to go to school, what should I do? I examined my bedroom. I was busy studying for finals all last week and this week that I had no time to clean up. There were papers, highlighters, pens, color pencils, and pencils everywhere.
