Does a pair of jeans like the ones from the movie The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants exist?
Growing up, I dreaded back to school clothes shopping, because it made me feel bad about myself. I would try one pair of jeans after another one and they would not fit. I was not slim, regular, or plus size. I was somewhere in between, and that size did not exist. Therefore, I settled for a pair of jeans that was a close fit rather than a perfect fit.
I was window shopping and noticed some jeans were on sale.
There’s the skinny jeans. That was a pass for me not because Gen Z considered them “uncool.” I don’t like them, because they are especially tight in the calf and ankle area and uncomfortable.
Then I saw a pair of girlfriend jeans. I’ve heard of boyfriend and mom jeans, but I’ve never heard of girlfriend jeans. I decided to try them on. Due to past experiences with jeans running too long, I did not have high expectations that they would fit. To my surprise, they were not tight or long. They actually fit me.
From what I learned online, unlike the boyfriend jeans, the girlfriend jeans are higher and tighter on the waist…
