The Question About How Far is Too Far
When it comes to achieving our goals and reaching our aspirations, we all have different limits and boundaries.
Some of us are content with taking a more relaxed and laid-back approach, while others are driven to push themselves to their absolute limits in order to achieve their dreams.
For those who are truly determined to achieve something, there is often no limit to how far they will go. They will put in the long hours and hard work, sacrifice their free time, and even put their own well-being on the line. They will take risks and make bold moves, all in the pursuit of their goal.
This kind of drive and determination can be truly inspiring, and it can lead to some truly amazing accomplishments. People who are willing to go the extra mile to achieve their goals are often the ones who make a big impact on the world.
I say big rather than greatest impact, because it depends if their goal is for the greater good.
I recently watched The Lie movie starring Joey King who plays a teenage daughter who confesses to impulsively killing her best friend. This led to her parents to go out of their way and cover this up with a web of lies and deception just to protect their daughter.
This led me to wonder how far is too far.
There is a fine line between pushing ourselves to our limits and pushing ourselves too far.
I would think our moral compass plays a significant role in determining how far we are willing to go. There must be that one point where we decide it’s not worth it and pull the plug.
For some people, their moral compass may be a strong driving force that keeps them from going too far in the pursuit of their goals. They may be unwilling to compromise their principles or engage in unethical or illegal behavior in order to achieve their aspirations. They will have a clear boundary of what they think is right and what’s not.
