Yes, I heard genetics can be a contributing factor to bad teeth. The only thing we can do is control what we can control like brushing our teeth, flossing, and twice yearly checkup. Like you said, if something is wrong, see the dentist ASAP to prevent the issue from worsening.
Good point about the diet! Even if you don’t eat candy, doesn’t mean you don’t have to brush your teeth.
As far as beverage, orange juice, is acidic as well and not good for the teeth. In the pH scale, I heard only thing that is good to drink that are good for the teeth are milk and water. Exception: If you break a tooth, drop it in milk rather than water and get to dentist ASAP (within 30 min/1 hr). It may not be too late for the dentist to repair.
