No, I’m not talking about Michael Bublé’s song.
Ever since most of my adulthood and 2020, I stopped celebrating Christmas — the special occasion meal and family gift exchanges. I’ve only participated in work or reddit Secret Santa gift exchanges.
This year I wanted to change this.
- Mom and I got the food. Grocery shopping was finally completed today. I know we shouldn’t have procrastinated. We were planning to go this past weekend, but I wasn’t feeling well this past weekend. See my Sick and Using the Same Home Remedies for a Clogged Toilet story if you want to know why. Since I have today off, we waited until today to grocery shop. Turkey is the main course for Christmas week. All that were fully stocked was ham. We searched both ends of the store and were fortunate and relieved to get a Turkey — it was the last one!
2. I got the presents. Gift has been bought and wrapped. It was fun to shop. My brother’s gift is coming late — some time in January. I procrastinated. It was last minute. It’s okay. He won’t be disappointed, because he doesn’t live with us, and we didn’t plan on doing any gift exchanges.
